Footprints Jazz is an independent platform based in Sheffield, supporting jazz and improvised music across the North of England. Over the past three years, we've hosted a wide range of events — from live showcases and workshops to open jam sessions — all aimed at encouraging collaboration, creativity, and new ideas.

We work with a range of venues including Foundry, Peddler, Factory Floor, Alder, and Hagglers Corner, creating space for artists exploring progressive sounds. Footprints has received recognition and support from organisations such as Arts Council England, Jazz North, the BBC, and the Sarah Nulty Foundation, and continues to play an active role in shaping Sheffield’s musical landscape.

In 2024, we launched the first Footprints Jazz Festival — a one-day event dedicated to showcasing emerging artists from across the North. The festival will return in 2025 with a new lineup and a continued focus on platforming regional talent.

Footprints is also an official partner for No Bounds Festival and also will be a leading partner in the forthcoming Kelham Jazz Festival.
